Orascom Staff Party

Orascom Staff Party

Many people have asked what the huge tent mushrooming up between The Three Corners Rihana Resort and the building of the American University is about.
The answer is: Orascom staff party! On the evening of Saturday, October 29th, 2005, all the Orascom staff of El Gouna is invited for Iftar, followed by a party with belly dancer and other treats. Unfortunately for other residents and visitors, this is private gathering. Don’t despair, though: with the feast of Eid approaching, all Gounies will have plenty of parties coming their way.

Iftar (Arabic: إفطار), refers to the evening meal for breaking the daily fast during the Islamic month of Ramadan. Iftar during Ramadan is often done as a community, with Muslims gathering to break their fast together.

Eid-ul-Fitr is the Muslim feast that follows Ramadan’s 30 days of fasting.

In our next weekend edition we will publish a special report on Muslim holidays.
