Traffic Control
Arriving last Monday back to El Gouna, the most noticable new aspect in the streets of El Gouna was certainly seeing that some security officers are now servicing as traffic assistants.
We all know various road crossings in El Gouna where stop signs are not being well respected by a lot of drivers. At some of those spots, wellknown for the dangereous situations and often serious accidents happening there, security officers are now posted with whistle and stick (the latter lightened at night) to assist drivers to respect the road security code. I even noticed once that one officer was reminding my shuttlebus driver to turn on the lights when entering downtown.
Certainly one road security improvement all residents and tourists will welcome. We certainly hope this action is not a temporary one for just the week of the Eid el Fitr festivities.
Thank you Orascom for listening, and please continue to improve road security in El Gouna.

We noticed this Sunday, november 6th, 2005, (so after the Eid el Fitr festivities) the police assistants have been gone again. So it was only a temporary measure… isn’t this a pity?
