To follow up on a previously published report, I would have to agree with the opinion that the Downtown laundry service is rather poor. My housekeeper brought linen there and they came back a different color and with an unpleasant smell. When complaining, I was made to understand that if I actually got back my own items (albeit the new dye) and not someone else’s, then it wasn’t too bad!
Since then, my housekeeper brings the home linen to the Marina laundry (which only receives the items and forwards them to El Gouna central laundry) and the result is perfectly fine.
Better yet: I discovered Al Malika laundry, well hidden in El Bustan. The good thing about them is that they pick up your laundry and deliver it back 24 hours later! I tested their services with a nasty seafood-tagen-tomato-sauce stain on a shirt; it came back impeccable.
On the down side, if your Arabic is as miserable as mine, don’t even try to call their extension: it’s a waste of time. On the up side, you can call George, the owner, on his mobile: his English is fluent and he will pop up at your location presto!
