Dinner & Movie @ La Kasbah

Belgian restaurateurs Jean Veulemans and Carla Waterschoot took over the old cinema, renovated it and created “La Kasbah”. Located behind the go-kart and Rihana Resort, this brand-new Arabian restaurant & bar with international suggestions and movies takes you to a journey which enchants all your senses.

The indoor bar and lounge area, reminiscent of 1001 Nights with its ornate decoration in bright silky fabrics and sculpted woods, brings out the Pasha in you. Having a mint tea there might very well turn into spending an evening feeling at home in a plush North-African inspired living room. Other guests even felt comfortable enough to put up an improvised gig on the piano, soon joined by a very good singer.

The coriander aromas wafting from the open kitchen draw you to explore the patio restaurant, where a fountain in a corner completes the ambiance. With Moroccan chefs, the cuisine is sweet-smelling and refined – and authentic too, according to the Moroccan friend who initiated me to it! Under Belgian management, attention is given to the smallest details – embroidered cotton napkins and wood-covered menus set the tone.

The movie theater, once covered by a tent in the winter, should also be a place of indulgence and comfort with its lounge chairs, sofas and tables as well as shisha corner. A minimum charge of LE 25 is applied, to be used for food and drinks consumption. Movie sessions begin at 19:00 and 22:00; two new movies are presented each week.

Unfortunately, the program cannot be given in advance for technical reasons, but in future, El Gouna Times will dedicate a special page in our online magazine with the choice of movies.
