El Gouna FC have sighted two young liberos

El Gouna FC have sighted two young liberos to strengthen their squad, currently topping the second league. Twenty-three year old Egyptian Bahaa from Cairo-based Al Alamin from Gizah appeared alongside Celso Halilo de Abdul, aka Mano. Mano is a 21 year old strong and already experienced player from Al Sahel from Kuwait.

A test match on 30 november 2005 against third divison side Rash Gharib at their fine Bustan Ground literally saw two halves, with both teams fielding almost entirely different line-ups.

The kick-off was scheduled for 2.30pm but this Egypt. So the match started at 3.45pm.

With the first 45 minutes already turning into a one-sided affair, the second half saw a rampant El Gouna with lethal striker Emad hitting the net twice in the 14th and 20th minute, before Rostom sealed victory with a 38th minute penalty.

Judging by the second half Al Ahly may consider themselves lucky not to have met El Gouna during their meanwhile 55 unbeaten streak. African champions Ahly have the best unbeaten run in world club football after their 3-1 league win over Arab Contractors on Sunday.
A hat-trick by Mohamed Abu Treka took the Egyptian club to a 55-game streak in all competitions, surpassing the 54-game achievements of Brazilian side Santos and Uruguayan club Penarol.

As reporter/photographer off course I have the best seat in the house.
