Ik ben nog altijd in Egypte voor een kort bezoek aan mijn jongste zoon Mike, die in Hurghada woont.
Gisterenochtend waren er opnieuw stroom onderbrekingen in het netwerk van El Gouna, waar ik dus een appartement heb gehuurd, met als gevolg dat de ADSL server van de lokale internet provider ’s nachts stilgevallen was en niet [...]

Gisterenochtend was aangekondigd dat de stroomvoorziening vanwege werkzaamheden tussen zes en half zeven ’s morgens onderbroken zou zijn, maar gedurende de hele dag waren er in het appartement regelmatig stroom onderbrekingen. Daardoor konden de mensen van de poolreiniging met hun “stofzuiger” ook niet bijtijds klaar zijn, waardoor ik pas later in de ochtend kon gaan [...]

Ik zit dan wel op het ogenblik nog altijd in El Gouna aan de Rode Zee in Egypte, maar dat betekent niet dat in Wirtzfeld, Oostkantons, België het leven stilvalt. Brigitte stuurde me gisterennamiddag meerdere digitale stemmingsbeelden uit onze tuin.

Ik zit dus nog altijd in Egypte, en ik hoop dat het jullie deugd doet dat ik een beetje van de zon (die hier alles overheerst) in de afgelopen dagen naar België heb gestuurd. Vandaag stuur ik dan een beetje meer wolken naar jullie toe, zodat het afwisselend blijft…

Ik ben nog in Egypte en gedurende mijn verblijf aldaar kun je hieronder dus een beetje nalezen wat er hier zo gebeurt.
Gisterenochtend ben ik dus thuis in het appartement gebleven omdat ik moest wachten op de mensen van de Internet installatie (die uiteindelijk dan toch maar niet gekomen zijn, maar wel telefonisch een nieuw paswoord [...]

Mooi weer heb ik in ieder geval hier in Egypte. De laatste keer dat het hier heeft geregend was in februari dit jaar, en wel iets meer dan een half uur.
De inwoners hebben in de straten in de regen staan dansen… voor ons in de Benelux moeilijk voorstelbaar.
Na de late avond gisteren heb ik [...]

Gisteren in El Gouna, Egypte een echt luie babbel dag gehouden. Nou ja, wel veel gebabbeld, maar niet helemaal lui, want gisterenochtend vroeg ben ik dus opnieuw naar die Internet Shop getrokken om te horen hoe het zit met de ADSL aansluiting.
De baas van de internet shop was eindelijk terug uit vakantie en de [...]

Vandaag moet ik het een beetje kort houden, ik wacht nog altijd op de DSL leiding in het appartement in El Gouna, en zolang die niet is geinstalleerd, moet ik het doen met een internet modem-leiding die af en toe helemaal niet werkt, en soms met maximale snelheden tussen 4800 en 26000 bps haalt, wat [...]

In Wirtzfeld is het deze ochtend koud (-0,1°C om 6.30 uur) en grijs. Op de webcam van de website www.wirtzfeld.be zie ik dat er hier en daar een dun wit laagje sneeuw op de daken ligt, maar dat zal wel weer snel weg zijn.
In Egypte waar ik op het ogenblik verblijf is het ’s morgens [...]

Ondertussen lig ikzelf dus aan het strand en de swimmingpool van het appartement in El Gouna in Egypte

en laat mij bruinbakken. Temperatuur nu net boven de 30 ° C.
De twee bovenstaande foto’s heb ik overigens met mijn GSM gemaakt en via bluetooth op mijn computer overgezet en daar nog wat kleiner gemaakt vanwege de resolutie. [...]

In the mini golf, closed to the reception area, a nice space for family meeting is available to overlook the playground and the games for the children.

Just wanted to mention about the excellent night we had at Moods on the marina when The Strides from Australia played live here on the 30th of December.

Heute unternahm ich einen Schnorchelausflug (für 25 Euro) mit dem Blue Brothers Diving Center, dieses liegt neben dem Ocean View Hotel in der Abu Tig Marina.

Seit den Attentaten von Sharm el Sheik finden sich auch in El Gouna neue Kontrollpunkte und zusätzliche Sicherungen an den Hotels und einigen strategischen Verkehrsknotenpunkten.

Ich trage oft unser El Gouna Times Mitarbeiter T-Shirt, welches bereits zu einem klaren Erkennungszeichen bei den Einwohnern El Gounas wurde.

Ich hatte es diese Woche bereits in einem andern Artikel erwähnt: Graham Thorpe hat damit begonnen neue „Spaßautos“, mit denen man in El Gouna umherfahren kann, zu importieren

Noch einmal besuchten wir den Hill, um einige Bilder „auf Anfrage“ für einen unserer Leser zu schießen.

Eines unserer neueren Viertel in El Gouna ist der West Golf. Hier sind schon ein paar Apartmentblocks fertiggestellt und die nubischen Villen sehen auch ihrer Fertigstellung entgegen.

Pierre Kaffer, ein Profirennfahrer im Audi DTM-Werksteam (DTM = Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft) traf gestern in El Gouna ein, um die Schlüssel für seine kürzlich in El Gouna erworbene Immobilie in Empfang zu nehmen.

Heute bin ich zwei mal fast mit Graham Thorpe zusammengestoßen. Er ist ein bekannter Einwohner El Gounas, der oft auf dem Golfplatz des Steigenberger Golf Resort zu finden ist.
